Welcome to the first week of April, Vancouver. There’s plenty to see and do (and eat) this week, and we’re here to float a couple of ideas your way. From April Fool’s jazz to a food truck festival, here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this week (March 31 to April 4).

It might be on April Fool’s, but there are no pranks here! The new and improved Astoria Pub is hosting its first jazz showcase, which will feature new acts to kick off a regular jazz jam session. Reserve your spot online and get ready to support the local music scene.

Canada Soccer is bringing its Women’s National Team to home soil on Friday, April 4, 2025, at BC Place, where they’ll go up against Argentina. The game will take place at 7:30 p.m., followed by another game on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Langford.

Led by Dr. Jess Cramp, this instalment of National Geographic Live dives into the history of over 500 species of sharks and how many are currently threatened. Dr. Cramp taps into the National Geographic archives to uncover the work of 20th-century women leading shark science and storytelling before she dives into her own research and conservation efforts.

Cheer on the ‘Nucks this week as they face off against the Seattle Kraken! Tickets aren’t cheap, but it’s well worth checking out a game or two this season.

A two-day food truck fest is coming to UBC outside of the nest this Thursday and Friday, bringing over 20 of Vancouver’s best food trucks with it. Grab some gourmet grilled cheese or bao buns, and head to your favourite corner on campus.

Yup, another sports pick! The Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinals are on this week, and the Whitecaps will play against the Mexican powerhouse Pumas UNAM at BC Place. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.

This Friday, the Museum of Vancouver is hosting a meditative painting session as part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. Open to beginners and seasoned watercolour painters, the gathering will celebrate the arrival of cherry blossoms, practice the art of observation, and explore watercolour painting as a medium to tune into the present.

From Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can check out MONOVA’s rich museum collection, Echoes of Memory, which weaves together over 100 pieces telling untold stories of aging and memory loss and the power of community in the human experience.

The second annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Festival is here! Visit over 20 participating vendors in Metro Vancouver with cherry blossom-themed treats, including Beaucoup Bakery, Mister Artisan Ice Cream, and Daan Go Cake Lab Cream, to name a few.

When: Now until April 27, 2025
Where: 10 participating locations in Metro Vancouver
