Well, Toronto, Christmas has come and gone but that doesn’t mean the fun is over. In the city, there are still plenty of things to do and you may as well make the most of the festivities! From ice skating under the lights to an epic EDM festival, these are 10 of the best things to do this weekend in Toronto.
Cavalcade of Lights
Nathan Phillips Square is lit up until Jan. 7 with light displays, art installations and free skating. The festivities are on all evening long each night until 10 p.m. and admission is free of cost.
If you don’t have your own skates, the cost of rentals is also waived!

Harbourfront skating
Through Winterfest Toronto, harbourfront skating will be open all weekend.
Zip around the ice with the city and the CN Tower as your backdrop for free.

Light Up The Dark 2024
All weekend, Aga Khan Museum’s front façade will come alive with mesmerizing projections of colours and lights. “Celebrating the Museum’s 10th anniversary, these radiant displays — ranging from digital to stop-motion — will transform the night into a vibrant canvas of colour,” shares the museum.
Admission is reduced to $10, running from 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. each night.

Cirque Du Soleil Twas The Night Before
Cirque du Soleil’s first holiday show has performances running all weekend long at Meridian Hall. According to the show’s website, spectators can expect “thrilling acrobatics, lovable characters – and a soundtrack including holiday classics re-invented by Cirque du Soleil.”
Tickets start at $80.35.

Ebi concert
Ebrahim “Ebi” Hamedi is taking over Scotiabank Arena on Friday night. Tickets are still available to see the Iranian pop singer but may not last long so grab yours ASAP.

Union Winter
Union Winter, happening at Union Station, will have a DJ roller skate night and a 19+ winter mixer. The roller skate night is happening on Friday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. where all are invited to move and groove while the mixer will run on Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. featuring tunes and adult beverages.

Solaris
Solaris is Toronto’s winter EDM music festival and this year’s lineup will include sets from Gryffin and Dabin. Tickets are on sale now and start at $80.16.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Washington Capitals
The Toronto Maple Leafs are bridging the gap between Christmas and New Year’s Eve with a meeting at home with the Washington Capitals. Grab your tickets and get ready to cheer loudly!
When: Saturday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m.

Toronto Raptors vs. Atlanta Hawks
More sports to get you through to the new year! The Toronto Raptors are hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday evening so why not make a date night or a fun evening with friends out of it?

Polar Bear Skate
“Gather your most courageous cold-weather friends and end 2024 with a cheeky spin around our figure-eight skate trail under the Gardiner,” shares The Bentway.
The Polar Bear Skate is free to attend but those who want to participate are asked to register ahead of time. Skates are available free of charge to rent and there will also be free hot beverages and cookies while supplies last.
