Celebrating its 30th year, KUUMBA Festival will showcase Black futures through music, theatre, spoken word, screenings and dance, happening all month long.

The Trending Table Black History Month Pop-up Market

This pop-up market inside Scarborough Town Centre showcases local Black-owned and BIPOC-owned businesses. If you can’t make it to the market at STC, there’s another one at Square One from Feb. 21 to 23.

First Wednesday Nights at the AGO

Another popular Toronto museum with a free admission day to take advantage of.

On the first Wednesday of each month between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. you can enjoy the waived admission cost, just be sure to book your free tickets online in advance to ensure you get a spot.

There is a limit of two tickets per booking.

Disney’s The Lion King

One of the most beloved musical productions is in Toronto.

The Lion King will perform at the Princess of Wales Theatre on select dates this January. Get your tickets before they sell out.

Fridays at MOCA

The Museum of Contemporary Art aka MOCA knows how to get your weekend started on the right foot.

Each Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., admission is free making this a great spot for date night.

Visitors can book in advance to guarantee entry or drop in at the door, just note that the last time slot for entry is 8:45 p.m.

Hangar Skate

Dance, or shall I say skate, under the lights and to curated music! Hangar Skate is a free event that you don’t want to miss out on! It is important to note that rink times must be booked in advance to ensure you’re able to hit the ice.

When: Until Feb. 17, 2025
Where: 34 Hanover Road
Cost: Free to attend

The Well public skating

Now until March 18th, 2024, The Well welcomes all to enjoy its public skating rink. Grab your skates or borrow a pair from the Skating Hut and hit the ice. Rental rates for adults are $10 and kids sizes (1 to 13) are $5. All of the rental proceeds support the Out of the Cold Program, according to The Well.

When: Monday to Thursday from 11 AM to 7 PM,  Friday to Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM, Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM

Wednesdays at Aga Khan Museum

The Aga Khan Museum has a “permanent collection of over 1,200 masterpieces and innovative performing arts and educational programming” and on Wednesdays, you don’t need to worry about paying for admission.

The free admission promotion runs on Wednesdays during extended hours from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Bentway

According to the skating trail, its winter programming begins on December 16, and this year, skaters are invited back to cruise the 220m figure-eight skate trail under the Gardiner Expressway. ”

“On display along the Skate Trail, visitors can enjoy Toronto artist Jessica Thalmann’s new work Resurfacing, presented in partnership with Exhibition Place, which explores the many transformations of the Gardiner Expressway over time.,” shares organizers.
