Music legend Frankie Valli is giving fans an update on his health after recent public concern sparked questions about his future in the spotlight.
A rep for the “Sherry” artist, 92, revealed that Valli has been going through “tough times.”
According to a statement given to People on Saturday, August 15, Valli “had some tough times, but he’s getting through them, and he’s improving. He is looking forward to being back on the road, and he is not retired.”
The career update comes amid fan concern after the “Grease” artist canceled his Last Encores tour in May.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows, but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health,” Valli shared via Instagram at the time. “I’m looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes.”
The decision to cancel rather than reschedule was reportedly made with fans in mind, as the artist did not want ticket holders dragged along “through the rescheduling process.”
He later shut down rumors about his retirement, simply sharing, “In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired.”
