With the widely successful release of Michael this year, fans of the “King of Pop” continue to revisit his vast library of music — including his earlier work.
First, there was the Jackson 5 with Michael Jackson included, of course. Then, the beloved group was comprised of just four, and they were known simply as the Jacksons.
And Wednesday, June 24 marks 49 years since one of their catchiest tracks climbed the charts in the U.K. and reached No. 1.
“Show You the Way to Go” was released on March 7, 1977, but the Philadelphia soul song is so infectious that it’s still enjoyed all these decades later. Check out a throwback performance by the Jacksons in the YouTube clip below.
Fans are still flooding the YouTube upload’s comments section to show their support for the MJ-led track, especially in honor of the chart-topping milestone. “Still Listening JUNE 2026!! 💓🌹💞🌹💞👏👏😍,” wrote one user on Wednesday, while another person commented, “I love seeing Michael and his Brothers performing together. The wooly hair and smooth dance moves could NEVER be duplicated. Definitely a ‘Peculiar Treasure’! 💎”
Fifteen years after the Jacksons’ hit song debuted, Australian singer Dannii Minogue covered “Show You the Way to Go” — but fans of the song will probably forever flock to the original by the Jacksons.
Earlier this month, the Jackson 5 announced new U.K. tour dates for November of this year. Fans in the U.K. will get the chance to celebrate the band’s legacy, with original members Jackie Jackson and Marlon Jackson performing.
The band announced the new dates with a tour poster on Instagram, writing, “I Want You Back. Blame It on the Boogie. Can You Feel It. Live. In concert. This November. It’s going to be special – don’t miss out – get your tickets now!”
The Jacksons have continued touring over the years, and they have a few festival appearances scheduled for July.
