2000s Rock Band Scores Ninth No. 1 Hit Ahead of New Album

Rock band Breaking Benjamin has soared to No. 1 on the charts, earning its ninth No. 1 hit on the coveted Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

“Something Wicked,” the second single off the band’s upcoming unnamed seventh studio album, reached the top spot on the chart’s Aug. 8, 2026 listing after 11 weeks climbing to No. 1.

“‘Something Wicked’ is a quick look into our influences both musically and thematically. We challenged ourselves especially hard on this record and on this song,” explained singer Benjamin Burnley in a statement at the time of the song’s release. “We pushed every boundary we’ve previously had as far as it will go, then pushed a little more. ‘Something Wicked’ was the result.”

The song was released on May 11, 2026, and continued the Pennsylvania rockers’ triumphant return to music. Fans couldn’t get enough of the powerful track, which further sets the tone for the band’s seventh album.

While no release date has been set for the record, the band confirmed in June 2026 that it had been completed.

“We’re done. It’s sinking in, ’cause we see all the comments, we see all the fans [saying], just, like, ‘When’s the new album [coming out]? When’s the new album?’ And, like, trust me, we are so ready to [put it out],” guitarist Keith Wallen said, per Blabbermouth. “We are so excited.”

The forthcoming album’s debut single, “Awaken,” was released on Oct. 16, 2024, and was Breaking Benjamin’s first new piece of original music in five years. Upon its release, the track shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Digital Song Sales chart.

In September, the band is hitting the road, touring across the United States and Canada. Prior to this, the band’s last big North American tour was a 2025 co-headlining tour alongside Three Days Grace.

The imminent fall tour will open in Camden, New Jersey, on Sept. 2 and conclude on Oct. 24 in Bristow, Virginia.
