Ontario lavender season is starting to warm up, and that means a visit to a local farm is a must if you want to take it all in!

Lavender dreams await you at Christel Lake Lavender, a beautiful 57-acre farm just outside the cute town of Port Perry — and it’s only an hour outside Toronto.

Christel Lake

Opening for the season on Friday, May 16, Christel Lake’s rows of blooms are the perfect backdrop for a whimsical day trip. Spanning a variety of colours from purple to white, there are 19 different kinds of lavender grown on the property. The lavender grown here is also used to make gifts and products available at the gift shop.

Wander the farm’s meticulous grounds and be sure to check out the spring-fed lake, which also has a scenic walking trail. It’s time to breathe in that fresh country air.

Wrap up a few snacks beforehand and make the day even cuter with a picnic on the shores of the lake! Guests are welcome to book picnic tables and bring their dogs with leashes.

Set aside some time to visit Port Perry, a historic lakeside town, known for its charm and this iconic 100+ year-old bakery, before heading back home.

To visit Christel Lake, guests will have to book an online reservation to secure a time slot beforehand, which includes a two-hour visit and access to the lavender fields, farm, and gift shop. The farm is open from Friday to Sunday and summer Holiday Mondays.

With an afternoon of lavender field frolicking under your belt, you’ll surely be leaving Christel Lake feeling refreshed and relaxed.
