One skill that really comes in handy when you’re looking to purchase a home is the ability to see past the sometimes questionable design choices owners have made.

Take 33 Via Italia, for example.

This two-storey semi-detached home looks pretty normal on the outside, but rest assured the inside is WEIRD.

The front entry.

The walls are a vibrant shade of purple that is usually reserved for a five-year-old’s princess-themed bedroom.

33 Via Italia Toronto

A virtually staged bedroom with tiled walls and floors.

But weirder than that, all the floors and many of the walls are tile, sometimes not even matching.

The main floor bedroom with an ensuite.

But if you can get past all that, and it’s not easy, 33 Via Italia is a house with a lot of potential.

The bathroom on the second floor.

First off, it boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The virtually staged living room.

The main floor is spacious and bright, thanks to the large windows.

The kitchen.

The kitchen is big enough to be an eat-in kitchen, and while all of it is very ’80s in design with the honey-oak cabinets, it seems reasonably functional.

The primary bedroom.

There is a bedroom on the main floor with an ensuite bathroom and upstairs there are three decently sized rooms and a shared family bathroom.

The basement boasts seven-foot ceilings.

The basement has a separate entrance with a roughed-in kitchen, but it is currently unfinished.

Another bedroom.

There’s parking, a decent backyard, and a furnace and air conditioner that are only about 10 years old.

The unstaged living room.

It’s also in a location where most semi-detached homes sell for over $1 million, as it is close to St. Clair W. and Earlscourt Park.

A virtually staged bedroom.

But probably the biggest selling point for this house is that it’s listed for only $674,880.

The backyard.

And in this city, that is a price low enough to forgive all manner of sins, including purple walls and exclusively tiled floors.
