Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, The Eagles have been topping the charts for more than 50 years.
Originally consisting of Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner, the beloved band were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. The self-titled debut album
Their 1972 debut studio album, Eagles, spawned two top-20 singles that have stood the test of time: “Take It Easy” and “Witchy Woman.” In the decades since, the band has been nominated for 18 Grammy Awards, taking home six statuettes.
The group holds the title of best-selling album in the United States for their 1976 hit, Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975). The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Despite replacing many of its founding members—current members include Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, Deacon Frey—The Eagles landed among the greats, coming in at number 93 on Billboard’s Top Artists of 2025 list.
They also appear on Billboard’s Top Artists – Duo/Group, Billboard 200 Artists, Top Rock & Alternative Artists, and Top Rock & Alternative Albums Artists.
The iconic group landed a residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere beginning in September 2024. After popular demand, the residency was extended into 2026, making them the artist with the most shows at the Las Vegas venue.
