George Strait is still climbing up the music charts, even over four decades after first kicking off his career.

45 years after putting out his first official single, the 74-year-old country icon is having a major resurgence on the current Billboard charts, particularly with his 2004 compilation album, 50 Number Ones.

Strait’s 20-year-old compilation album climbed up to No. 74 on the Billboard 200 this week, jumping up ten spots from last week’s position at No. 84, according to new chart standings dated the week of July 4.

The new feat earns the album another week on the Billboard 200, bringing its total number of weeks spent on the chart to a whopping 390.

Released in October 2004, 50 Number Ones was Strait’s sixth compilation album, and it features some of the biggest hits of his career, like “Carrying Your Love With Me,” “All My Ex’s Live in Texas,” and his first-ever No. 1 hit, “Fool Hearted Memory.”

But Strait would go on to have more than 50 No. 1 hits in his career, and his legendary catalog now boasts 60 chart-topping hits. 44 of his most successful songs reached the summit of the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, while 16 songs reached No. 1 on non-Billboard charts, including Radio & Records, Mediabase and The Gavin Report.
