It was a Christmas to remember for ‘90s R&B legend Montell Jordan, who has been battling prostate cancer.
Jordan was first diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer in July 2024. The singer had his prostate removed and was given clear margins soon after.

However, in September 2025, Jordan revealed the cancer had returned. Jordan underwent radiation to treat the cancer that was in his lymph nodes.
One day after Christmas, Jordan took to Instagram to reveal he had beaten cancer for a second time.
“Yesterday was Christmas. I got the greatest Christmas gift that I could have ever gotten. My doctors called me on yesterday morning to let me know that I am undetected now,” he shared in a video.

Jordan went on to share what the past year has been like for him and what treatment he underwent since the cancer returned this past summer. Now that he’s recovering again, the singer explained he made some changes so he can do his part to stay healthy.
“It is my prayer that you and your families will be healthy as you head into 2026. Like I said, I got the best gift I could have ever gotten to hear. the words undetected, cancer free, because for two years that was not the case. And so I’m just super, super grateful,” Jordan added.
Those who follow him on social media know that Jordan has been documenting his cancer journey in a new film called Sustain. Jordan spoke about that in his video as well as his Instagram caption.
“I am now a 2x cancer survivor. This is been a 2 year journey that we have lived and simultaneously documented for a film called SUSTAIN. @sustainthemovie is where you can see updates. Sustainthemovie.com is where you can support our efforts to help us complete this film. It will be one of the greatest contributions I have made to humanity,” read part of the Instagram message.
Montell Jordan learned he was cancer-free on Christmas. The singer is sharing his news and story in order to help and inform others.
