Gateway Resort Brand to Debut in Kandla with New IHCL Property – Image Credit IHCL
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced plans to open a Gateway-branded resort in Kandla, Gujarat. This development is part of a project to convert existing structures into a resort.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, IHCL’s Executive Vice President of Real Estate and development, highlighted Kandla’s potential as an emerging market for both business and leisure travelers. She expressed excitement over the company’s partnership with Mr. Sanjay Poddar for this project.
The Gateway Kandla, covering an area of 8 acres, will offer 93 rooms and is conveniently situated near Kandla Airport. The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a modern gym, and a swimming pool. Additionally, it will provide a 19,000-square-foot space for hosting events such as corporate meetings, social gatherings, and destination weddings.
Mr. Sanjay Poddar, Director of S Poddar International, anticipates that Gateway Kandla will become a desired destination, offering a high-standard hospitality experience.
Kandla is a significant industrial hub known for its maritime trade, petroleum, chemical, and manufacturing industries. The city is also close to several cultural and historical attractions like the Great Rann of Kutch and Mandvi Beach.
Upon the opening of the Gateway Kandla, IHCL will have 25 hotels in Gujarat, including six that are currently under development.
