Hilton’s Tripling Expansion Plans: New Hotel Signings in South East Asia
In response to increasing demand for affordable, upscale accommodation, Hilton has announced the signing of three new hotels in South East Asia, marking a significant step towards tripling its mid-market presence.
Hilton, a leading global hospitality company, has disclosed plans to expand its focused service presence in South East Asia substantially. This announcement comes in response to the escalating demand for affordable, upscale accommodation in the region. Hilton aims to triple its mid-market presence, particularly through its Hilton Garden Inn properties.
The company has signed three new hotels in South East Asia, totaling 15. Its ambition is to reach 40 mid-market branded hotels in the coming years. This strategic development will bring Hilton’s total properties in the region to over 150, a more than 50% increase from its current portfolio of 102 properties.
The three new Hilton Garden Inn properties will be strategically located in popular tourist destinations: Hoi An, Vietnam; Sabah, Malaysia; and Bali, Indonesia. These additions align with Hilton’s expansion strategy to capitalize on the growing base of middle-class, value-driven travelers and the improved ease and accessibility of travel in the region.
The Hilton Garden Inn Hoi An Tra Que Village marks Hilton’s entry into Hoi An, Vietnam, a coastal canal city recognized as one of South East Asia’s most celebrated destinations. The property will have 250 rooms and offer guests a wide variety of culinary options, including three dining outlets, two bars, and an all-day dining restaurant.
In Malaysia, the Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran will expand Hilton’s footprint in Sabah, a state known for its diverse geological habitats and the famed Mount Kinabalu. The new hotel will include 160 rooms and provide guests direct access to unspoiled beachfront and lush mangrove forests.
Finally, the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua in Indonesia will strengthen Hilton’s presence in Bali’s holiday hotspot. This property will offer 159 rooms and suites and provide business and leisure travelers with convenient access to the area’s many attractions, including the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BNDCC) and the Bali Collection, the area’s largest outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex.
In addition to these focused service hotels, Hilton continues to grow its luxury portfolio across the Asia Pacific region. Over the next two years, it plans to open seven Waldorf Astoria properties in Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Xi’an, and Hanoi. Hilton also expanded its luxury offering with the recent introduction of LXR Hotels & Resorts to South East Asia.
