February is quickly drawing to a close, meaning International Women’s Day (IWD), recognized annually on March 8, is right around the corner, and you can mark the occasion by joining fellow celebrants at a huge rally and march.
Centring around the theme “fighting for our lives, building our resistance,” the 2025 installment of International Women’s Day Toronto’s annual rally and march promises to be a particularly poignant one.
Taking place on or around International Women’s Day for the past several decades, the march serves as an opportunity for women and their allies to get inspired by activists, professionals and artists while finding solidarity in their own community.
According to International Women’s Day Toronto, the Toronto march has grown to be the largest of its kind in North America for the past 40 years — and, in a time where injustice against women seems to be ramping up worldwide, 2025 will likely be no different.
The march kicks off at OISE (252 Bloor West) at 1 p.m., before heading east on Bloor and south on Yonge to Gould Street.
Prior to the march, though, a rally will also be held at OISE starting at 11 a.m., which will feature a variety of performances and powerful speakers to get you in the spirit.
