I visited Canada’s first and only MINISO LAND and it blew me away

12 November 20253 Mins Read

MINISO has just unveiled its first MINISO LAND in North America, and it’s right in West Edmonton Mall!

This November, MINISO opened its first North American MINISO LAND, an IP collaboration fantasy-land with Sanrio, Harry Potter, and Disney characters alike. The opening marks a significant step forward in MINISO’s Canadian expansion, with this store being the biggest store in Canada, in the biggest mall in Canada.

I was able to drive myself over to West Edmonton Mall to get a peek at the new location this week, and let me tell you— this store is just as magical as they said it would be.

When you first walk into MINISO, you’re greeted by a large sign and mascot, overtaking the front entrance. All around, you can spot cute pop-up sculptures like this fake phone booth or the Snoopy statue nearby. Its atmosphere is as cute as its branding, and everyone I saw walking around was absolutely eating it up (although, so was I).

Speaking of, I saw dozens of folks entering the store. It was busy. People were all around with friends, family, by themselves, just exploring the abundance of items.

It’s the perfect size: huge. There’s so much to see, and there are so many characters like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll, which I love to see.

You’re greeted into the IP Collection Zone by Snoopy and Woodstock, the cutest duo. Here, you can shop any of the blind boxes, key chains, figures, or other merchandise MINISO carries.

Some of the new arrivals, which debuted in Canada, include the Hello Kitty Pop Star series, Sanrio Fox Island series, and Sanrio Animal Adventure series vinyl plush surprise box.

The amount of Sanrio-themed items was like heaven to a fan. If you’re even remotely interested in any of the characters, this is absolutely the place to stop.

Not only do they have toys and lifestyle goods, but there’s an entire food and drink section.

This corner of the store offers so many flavours and options, I was almost overwhelmed. They even have the popular peelable candy, which I haven’t spotted anywhere else.

In addition to the food and drink section, MINISO Beauty also has its own corner.

This store really has it all, from lifestyle to toys, to make-up, and even snacks and drinks. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll definitely find it in MINISO LAND.

And, even if you aren’t looking for anything, I’m sure you’ll walk out with more than a couple of items if you happen to stop by.

Where: 8882 170th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
