It may not feel like it yet, but spring is here, and nicer weather is just around the corner. If you want to celebrate the warmer season with a bang, then check out the Indian spring festival of Holi and Vaisakhi in Calgary. This two-in-one festival will be taking over Bowness Park for a massive celebration of colour, community, and life. Oh, and it’s completely free to attend!

The Hindu festival Holi is also known as the festival of colours. This comes from the tradition of throwing coloured water and powders in the air (and at each other) in celebration. On the other hand, Vaisakhi is one of the biggest events in the Sikh community and marks the beginning of the spring harvest.

Together, these two spring festivals are coming together for one giant celebration — and you can experience it all right here in Calgary this April.
