Looking to bring life back to your home this spring? We have just the thing! The Toronto Botanical Gardens is hosting its annual plant sale this May with its beloved mini pop-up marketplace, just in time for Mother’s Day.

The popular event returns for two days next week, May 10 and 11. Expect a selection of top-performing and ethically sourced plants from reliable growers in the area.

Plants & Flowers

Whether you’re looking for bright green plants or colourful florals, you’re in for a treat. Though browsing the selection of greenery sounds like a lovely way to spend the weekend, you can also preorder a selection of flowers.

New for this year, there’s an online preorder pickup option for Roses, Hydrangeas, Fruit Shrubs, Trees, and Conifers through the TBG Garden Shop. You can also place a preorder for peonies during the sale.

The Toronto Botanical Gardens was just named one of North America’s most vibrant gardens, so it’s safe to say they know their stuff.

That being said, if you need some help deciding what to choose, their knowledgeable staff and volunteers can offer personalized recommendations and gardening tips.

There’s even a free Garden Advice Clinic, hosted by the Toronto Master Gardeners, that can provide science-based horticultural information if needed.

But the fun doesn’t end there.

Mini pop-up marketplace

Once you’ve picked up your plant friends, head to the marketplace where you can shop from over 10 different vendors:

Now, if you happen to be a member of the Toronto Botanical Garden, you can check out the event a day early and shop before everyone else does. On May 9 from noon to 7 p.m., just show your membership card at the door. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up online ahead of the sale.

All you have to do now is plan your weekend, invite your friends or take your mom out plant shopping. Be sure to grab a coffee at their on-site cafe and take a stroll through their beautiful garden.

What a way to spend your first weekend of May.

When: May 10 and 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Toronto Botanical Garden, 777 Lawrence Ave. E.
