Looking for an excuse to enjoy the spring weather? Le Grand PoutineFest is returning to Montreal this month, bringing all the indulgence and fun local poutine fans have come to expect.
Kicking off from April 18 to 20 at Marché Central, followed by a stop at Galeries d’Anjou from April 24 to 27, the touring festival promises to be even bigger than before, with an impressive lineup of food trucks, new poutine creations, and plenty of family-friendly activities. And the best part? Entry is completely free.
This year’s menu boasts a range of exciting, unique poutine options that go far beyond the classic version. Some of the standouts include the Poutine Cordon Bleu from Café Hollywood, which combines crispy chicken, ham, béarnaise sauce, and breadcrumbs for a rich twist on the traditional. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, Greg’s Diner offers a Poutine au Poulet Popcorn, featuring crispy popcorn chicken topped with a tangy honey mustard.
Vegetarians won’t feel left out either, as Smoking Dragon offers a Poutine au Tofu Bang Bang, made with crispy tofu, Thai sauce, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, all served on a bed of crispy fries.
Beyond the poutine, there will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family, including a giant inflatable obstacle course and skill games. You can also treat yourself to sweet churros from Mademoiselle Croquignole or even a creative Churros Poutine, which pairs churros with caramel sauce, mini marshmallows, and M&Ms for a dessert twist on the classic dish.
Live performances will add to the festive atmosphere, with shows from Freddie James Project on April 25 and Sylvie Desgroseilliers on April 26 in Anjou. Plus, the festival is introducing exclusive dinner-shows featuring well-known artists, providing a unique way to enjoy both food and live entertainment.
