For any CNE goers who consider a visit to the exhibition’s casino an integral part of the annual tradition, a new gaming house is set to provide more chances to try your luck, extending play outside of the limited few weeks that the site is usually open.

On October 1, what is being simply dubbed “The Casino” will debut at the Better Living Centre at 195 Princes’ Boulevard.

Though the attraction will be managed and operated by the CNE Association, it will exist as a “distinct and separate entity” from the Ex itself and will not affect the CNE Casino that runs at the same time as the fair each summer, a spokesperson confirmed to blogTO today.

Primarily on offer are games like blackjack, multi-action blackjack, king’s bounty, Spanish 21, 3-card poker, hold’em bonus poker, baccarat, war and roulette.

While the CNE’s Casino closed its doors on September 2 at the conclusion of the Ex, from its grand opening next Tuesday, October 1, the new casino will remain open until November 9, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily for customers 19 and over.

While there aren’t many more details available just yet on what visitors can expect, passersby are already noticing the new signage and speculating on what might be different (for better or worse) than the existing CNE Casino — an establishment about which many are now jumping in to share colourful anecdotes on social media.
