All aboard! City Cruises Gananoque has launched a brand-new cruise experience, and this one offers views of the beautiful Boldt Castle and Singer Castle.

The Ontario cruise line is the oldest in Canada, kicking off its 2025 season with a list of cruises “through the archipelago where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River, including the newly introduced Two Castle 1000 Islands Cruise departing from Ivy Lea.”

The City Cruises Gananoque port at Ivy Lea can be found off the 1000 Islands Parkway in the village of Ivy Lea, just under three hours by car from Toronto and 30 minutes by car from Kingston.

“Taking a cruise through the 1000 Islands is a must-do experience,” says Mory DiMaurizio, Chief Operating Officer of City Cruises Canada. “

“By adding the Two Castle cruise to our offerings, we’re able to create more unforgettable moments and offer something new for our returning guests who visit Gananoque time and time again,” DiMaurizio continues.

Here’s a quick history lesson on each castle. The Boldt Castle was built at the start of the 20th century by George C. Boldt, proprietor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. He built the structure as a tribute to his wife, Louise. Men, what have you done for your woman today?

Singer Castle was built by Frederick Bourne of the Singer Sewing Machine Company on Dark Island in 1905. Originally known as ‘The Towers,’ the four-storey, 28-room mansion has a network of “secret passageways hidden in its walls.”

Each cruise has a cash bar and snacks available on board, with the one-hour rides starting at $33.

Cruises can be booked starting April 25, 2025. Time to take to the water, Ontario!
