Parents, it might be time to check your children’s toy bin.

Health Canada has issued a nationwide recall for the Fisher-Price Brunch and Go Stroller Toy due to a potential choking hazard. The issue? A sunny-side-up egg teether that’s apparently not as toddler-friendly as it looks.

According to the recall notice, “the yolk of the toy egg of the stroller toy can crack and create small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children.” While no injuries have been reported in Canada so far, five incidents have been recorded in the U.S. involving the egg component breaking — thankfully with no injuries there either.

The toy, which has been sold in Canada since August 2022, features a plush avocado toast design with hanging elements like a tomato mirror, crinkle bacon, and the now-infamous egg. It can be identified by model number HGB85, listed on the tag attached to the avocado toast piece. Over 4,500 units have been sold in Canada, according to the report.

The model in question, identified by the number HGB85, is indicated on the label attached to the avocado toast-shaped toy.Health Canada , Health Canada

Parents are advised to “immediately stop using the recalled product, take it away from young children, and contact Fisher-Price to receive a replacement stroller toy.”

To get your free replacement, you’ll need to:

  • Write “Recall” on the egg teether
  • Upload a photo of the marked toy to Mattel’s recall site
  • Wait for confirmation, then toss the old toy in the trash

For questions, you can also call Mattel at 1-855-853-6224 during business hours, Monday to Friday.

Just a heads-up: reselling, donating, or giving away recalled items is prohibited in Canada, so best to just bin it once your replacement is on the way.
