The Democratic National Committee (DNC) booked the truck from Pittsburgh-based Vagabond Taco, which drove down to sling — What else? — grilled chicken on soft corn tortillas.

Vagabond prepared 200 tacos (limited to one per person), and the noon-to-2 p.m. freebie ran out one hour in, a DNC spokesperson tells Eater. Expect “more activations for sure,” he adds, declining to say whether that means additional “TACO” Tuesdays.

“It’s past time Trump realizes the economy is serious business — not a game of chicken,” per a statement on Monday from DNC chair Ken Martin.

Tuesday’s edible political statement set up shop a block from the Republican National Committee’s Southeast headquarters. Vagabond Taco is part of the Western Pennsylvania Food Truck Alliance, in outspoken Democratic U.S. Sen. John Fetterman’s home state. With a Breaking Bad-branded menu, Vagabond’s truck is covered in decals, a Heisenberg logo, and on Tuesday, a temporary banner of Trump dressed in a chicken suit.

The widely publicized poultry poke at Trump, first reported by Axios, naturally drew backlash from Republicans.

“LMFAO. A taco truck? Are they going to be giving out free vasectomies again too?” added RNC spokesperson Zach Parkinson, pointing to the DNC’s past pro-abortion marketing campaign.

On Monday, the DNC teased out the lunch with a taco emoji-led press release mocking the latest TACO topic: “Trump once again flip-flopped on his own unaffordable national tax — less than a day after Trump’s Commerce Secretary swore no changes were coming — throwing small businesses and the American economy into chaos.”
