Aaron Rodgershas known his wife for much longer than anyone thought.

The NFL quarterback, 42, recently opened up about his wife during appearance on The Pat MacAfee Show on Wednesday (March 4). During the interview, Rodgers gave some insight into his life as a married man and his decision to keep his wife’s identify a secret.

Rodgers, who tied the knot with the mystery woman sometime in 2025, has chosen to respect his wife’s wishes to be anonymous—but during the interview he revealed that he actually met her back in 2017.

“When we met back in 2017, I knew that there was something crazy special about this, and I wanted to be with her,” he told host Pat MacAfee.

He added that from the beginning, she expressed her disinterest in being a public figure, explaining, “She would make funny comments like, ‘I would never live in Green Bay,’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ She’s just not a public person.”

Eventually she “moved back across the pond” and Rodgers went on to date Danica Patrick and later, Shailene Woodley.

“I got myself into, you know, crazy town. And I was with individuals who called the paparazzi, who leaked or talked about where I was living. Who coerced me to make the proverbial Instagram, social media posts,” he said.

Rodgers noted that after living that kind of lifestyle, he realized he “never really wanted to live a public life” and now that he’s out of it, he doesn’t want back in.

He later added of his wife, “She didn’t sign up for this bulls–t. She signed up because she loves me and she supports me and she wants to spend the rest of our lives together and start a family together. She didn’t sign up to be out front, you know, a social media WAG. Like, she doesn’t want any of that bulls–t and I don’t either.”

Rodgers says that the pair are “fully content on living a private life” and don’t plan to ever change that in the future.
