If you’re sick of stuffy nightclubs and boring bars, there’s a wild warehouse party coming to Toronto this month that might just be the ticket for you.
Warehouse parties and festivals are nothing new in Toronto; from events like Promise’s German Sparkle Party to Sojourn Festival, the tradition of transforming abandoned industrial spaces into lively party pads is alive and well in the city, and has been for decades.
This month, there’s a brand-new warehouse party hitting the scene that’s transforming an abandoned factory in a truly unexpected way: they’re turning it into a house.
Created by LOVE U 4EVER, arbiters of a series of both secret and non-secret events across the city year-round, their upcoming “House” Party will see a “wild and weird warehouse” in the city transformed into a house (of sorts) to provide the ultimate party experience.
There’s only one catch: you don’t get to know where the party is actually taking place until you’ve bought the ticket.
“If you miss the random chats in the kitchen, sitting in a stranger’s bathtub and forgetting which red cup is yours, this is the night for you,” a description of the party on Eventbrite reads.
On top of the one-of-a-kind theme and obvious intrigue that comes along with a party held at a secret location, the event’s organizers also say that the party will include “food vendors, a custom photobooth, […], multiple talented local DJs and some limited freebies.”
That sounds even better than an average house party, if you ask me.
At the time of publication, the event is already 60 per cent sold out, so if a “house party” where you don’t have to worry about it being someone’s actual house is your jam, you’ll want to act fast.
You can purchase tickets to the party, which kicks off at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 18, starting at $50 on Eventbrite.
The party’s actual location will be announced to attendees in advance of its start time. Until then, happy speculating.
