Accor and InterGlobe, India’s leading travel conglomerate, have announced an enhanced partnership to transform India’s hospitality industry. The alliance seeks to establish India’s fastest-growing hospitality enterprise, targeting a network of 300 hotels under Accor brands by 2030.

Accor, with a considerable presence in India, currently operates 71 hotels, with an additional 40 in development. This partnership allows Accor to expand its footprint further and streamline operations across all market segments, reaffirming its commitment to robust growth in the Indian market.

InterGlobe offers extensive expertise in the travel and hospitality sectors, bolstered by its successful ventures in aviation, hotels, airline management, logistics, and AI-enabled technology. It is the largest stakeholder of IndiGo, India’s largest airline, contributing significantly to the country’s burgeoning travel industry.

The partnership comes as India’s economy, growing at an estimated annual rate of 7%, is expected to become the world’s fifth-largest outbound travel market and third-largest domestic travel market by 2027. Improved infrastructure, increased air connectivity, and a rapidly emerging middle class are driving a boom in domestic tourism and international travel.

The country’s hotel industry remains largely fragmented, offering substantial opportunities for organized, branded players. Accor and InterGlobe aim to harness this potential, leading the sector’s transformation while catering to Indian travelers both domestically and globally.

Key initiatives of this strategic collaboration include the creation of a hospitality powerhouse covering all segments and an exclusive partnership with Treebo, one of India’s leading budget hotel platforms. The new entity will become the sole vehicle for expanding all Accor brands in India, including luxury and lifestyle brands from Ennismore, Accor’s rapidly developing hospitality portfolio.

Accor and InterGlobe will jointly invest in Treebo and become the largest shareholder, leading the development of the Ibis and Mercure brands in India. This partnership will leverage Treebo’s state-of-the-art technology to tap into India’s vast unbranded hotel market and accelerate growth.
