Adam Sandler’s fashion sense is one of the things everyone knows about him. It’s even become a very endearing way of saying, “I don’t know what’s going on with my outfit today.”
If you hear someone say they’re “channeling Adam Sandler,” it usually means they’re wearing basketball shorts where basketball shorts are not typically welcome. On Saturday, August 2nd, he finally addressed everybody’s feelings about his iconic sense of style:

In this interview with Jennifer Hudson, Sandler reveals that he knows exactly what everyone is saying about his clothes. When she asks him what he calls his fashion sense, he didn’t hold back.
“Mine is just… I don’t know… That’s just a man who opened his suitcase and threw something on! My kids are mad at me because I wear those shorts.” In the interview, he’s literally wearing the exact same shirt as he is in one of the pictures, and the sweatshirt he wore to the Oscars.
At least we were all right about his fashion decisions: people have always wondered if he just throws stuff on, and apparently he does. Whether he’s hitting a red carpet or going on a Dunkin’ run, you can catch him in a very comfortable outfit.
He goes on to say that, “every day, I’m sorry for the way I dress.” He shouldn’t be sorry, though: his fashion sense is part of his charm. Everyone loves Adam Sandler just the way he is!
