The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) announced on Thursday the appointment of Ralph Posner as chief communications officer and Khristyn Brimmeier as chief of staff. The move marks a significant expansion in AHLA’s executive leadership, signaling a focus on advancing the organization’s priorities.

In his new role, Posner will direct AHLA’s external communications, including media relations, member communications, and campaign strategy. His tenure includes a wealth of experience in communications and reputation management at various government and private sector levels. He was previously a partner at Seven Letter, a strategic communications firm based in Washington, D.C.

In her new role, Brimmeier will serve as a strategic advisor to AHLA CEO Rosanna Maietta. Her responsibilities will include advancing association priorities and key projects. Brimmeier brings over 25 years of experience in politics and strategic communications, having led public affairs campaigns and managed teams for a range of nonprofit and corporate clients. She most recently held the position of executive vice president at Lot Sixteen, a public affairs and lobbying firm.

In addition to Posner and Brimmeier, Neal Daftary has joined AHLA as vice president, market development, Green Key Global. In this role, Daftary will focus on expanding the certification programs of Green Key Global, a joint venture of AHLA and the Hotel Association of Canada that promotes sustainability in the hospitality business. Daftary’s previous roles include Director of Franchise & Sales Development at OYO Hotels, where he led growth initiatives in key U.S. markets.
