Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak shared that at some point this week Air Canada, United and Delta Airlines will start supporting its new Find My Item location tech.
This is part of the iOS 18.2 update and means if you use an AirTag to track your luggage, you can temporarily share its location with one of the supported airlines so they can track it down and return it.
If you’re in a lost luggage situation with an AirTag, you can open the Find My app on your Mac, iPad or iPhone and generate a Share Item Location link that can then be shared with the airline.
Exciting news for all of us travelers! Starting this week, United, Delta, and Air Canada will accept Find My item locations to help track delayed bags, with more airlines coming soon. Such a game-changer! pic.twitter.com/VMcw0D1At0

You can then disable the sharing link at any time, or it will automatically disable once you are reunited with your lost bag.
This will be great news for the thousands of Air Canada customers who have lost luggage or waited a long time to get it back over the last few years.
