If you’re someone who wants to take care of their hair—whether it’s damaged from heat treatments or just really dry—you probably already know about hair oil. In addition to hydrating shampoos and conditioners, hair oil is a great way to give your hair that extra boost of hydration. Surprisingly, the grocery store chain Aldi is going to be selling a honey-infused hair oil this coming week that not only is a good fix for damaged and dry hair but is very similar to a luxury version that’s over nine times the price.

From January 15-21, Aldi will be selling Lacura Honey Hair Oil for only $4.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores while supplies last. Visually, the hair oil is very pretty. It comes in a rectangular glass bottle with a purple and white dropper as the lid. The front-facing label has a sweet bee and some flowers and boasts that the hair oil is “infused with honey extract.”

Lacura Honey Hair Oil, $4.99 at Aldi

Aldi

This hair oil comes in a 1.7 fl. Oz. (50 mL) bottle. And while the site doesn’t have a ton of info for us before it drops, according to Extra.ie, the hair oil is a “blend of oils” meant to repair “damaged and dry hair.” Some key ingredients in the Aldi version are coconut, argan and sweet almond oils (along with honey, of course).

The UK and European Aldi stores had this oil in stores late last year, and as TikToks can show, people are really into it. One user, @emilyxharveyx, posted some close-up shots of Aldi’s hair oil. They also note that it’s a “dupe” for a luxury brand’s version (which we mentioned above).

Honey Infused Hair Oil, $46 at Gisou and Sephora

Gisou

This Aldi hair oil is very similar to Gisou’s Honey Infused Hair Oil. It costs $46 for the 1.7 fl. oz. “full size” bottle at Gisou and Sephora. So it’s the same size as Aldi’s and it has the same base ingredient: honey! This can be used as an oil to hydrate hair or protect it from heat up to 450 degrees.

In addition to honey, Gisou’s hair oil has a “Mirshalehi Oil Blend” which includes eight oils “rich in Omegas 3, 6 and 9.” Estra.ie reported that the key ingredients we listed above are also in the Gisou honey hair oil. They do note that it has “passionflower seed oil” and other ingredients that aren’t in the less expensive version but are very similar.

So if you’re looking for a good hair oil to add some much-needed hydration to your damaged ends, but don’t want to splurge, Aldi’s Lacura Honey Hair Oil is worth looking into.
