Whatever the occasion, Aldi’s upcoming sweater dress might just be what you’ve been looking for. It’s a comfortable, soft and affordable look. Plus, it’s similar to styles from designer brands like Tuckernuck and Ralph Lauren that are up to almost 19 times the price.
From Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, Aldi is selling the Serra Ladies Cable Sweater Dress for $12.99 at Aldi stores across the country (while supplies last) in the Aldi Finds aisle. This specific dress comes in three styles and colors: black, cream and gray. The gray and cream options are the same style and fabric, but the black dress is an off-the-shoulder style.

All three of Aldi’s dresses hit above the knee and are made with cozy fabric. The cream and gray colors are made with 50% rayon, 30% polyester and 20% polyamide. The black dress is made with 74% rayon, 19% polyester and 7% metallic fiber. The black dress comes in sizes S-XL and the other two come in sizes M-XL.

Both the cream and gray colors of Aldi’s sweater dress are a very classic winter design; a sweater dress with a cable knit pattern running down the dress and a cowl neck that has some room so it doesn’t constrict you. The cream, specifically, looks like Tuckernuck’s Hyacinth House Cream Whistler Sweater Dress, which is currently $158. At first glance, they’re nearly identical, but there are some differences.
Tuckernuck’s dress has a chunkier cable knit pattern along with a thick, ribbed hem at the bottom and the sleeves. Also, this dress has a ribbed mock neckline that doesn’t fold over, whereas Aldi’s has a cowl neck with a foldover turtleneck look. Tuckernuck’s sweater dress just looks more expensive overall (which is good considering the price difference) and it’s made from a heavyweight, soft knit fabric that’s 100% acrylic.
Lauren Ralph Lauren Women’s Aran-Knit Wool-Blend Turtleneck Sweater, $245 at Macy’s

As we also mentioned before, Aldi’s cream sweater dress is very similar to Lauren Ralph Lauren’s Women’s Aran-Knit Wool-Blend Turtleneck Sweater, which is $245 at Macy’s. Granted, this one is a sweater and not a full dress, but the similarities are there—especially with the paired skirt.
The Ralph Lauren sweater has a foldover turtleneck along with a cable knit pattern. The hem and cuffs also have a ribbed hem (Aldi’s has a very thin one). This is made out of 55% wool, 25% nylon and 20% cotton. It also has that matching pencil skirt.
So if you have a budget you want to stick to, but still desire a new cozy dress for the holiday season, Aldi’s Serra Ladies Cable Sweater Dress is worth checking out.
