Aldi Is Selling a Sleek $17 Square Planter Box Similar to Home Depot and Wayfair Styles Up To Nearly 7x The Price

Just because fall is upon us doesn’t mean that you have to stop all things gardening. Whether you live somewhere that’s warm year-round or you want to plan out your garden or patio plants for next year, it’s never too late (or too early) to buy more planters. And this coming week, Aldi is selling a sleek square planter box that’s similar to Home Depot and Wayfair styles up to almost seven times the price.

From Oct. 2 to Oct. 8, Aldi is selling a Belavi 16 Inch Square Planter Box for $16.99 in their Aldi Finds aisle at US stores while supplies last. It’s a pretty classic design; there are four sides with sleek molding and legs. It comes in two colors, black and white, and measures 16 inches long by 16 inches wide by 16 inches tall; a true square planter box.

Belavi 16 Inch Square Planter Box, $16.99 at Aldi

This planter doesn’t come assembled, but instead, you can “snap pieces together for quick and easy assembly.” Plus Aldi’s website says that it’s “lightweight and durable” with “UV-resistant plastic construction.” This is a good choice “for outdoor plants and flowers” for your garden, yard or patio.

Mayne Fairfield 20 in. Square Self-Watering Black Polyethylene Planter, $109.99 at Home Depot

As we mentioned above, this Aldi planter is very similar to other styles out there, like the Mayne Fairfield 20 in. Square Self-Watering Black Polyethylene Planter, which is currently $109.99 at Home Depot. This one is, of course, slightly larger than Aldi’s—it measures 20 inches all around—but it has similar molded sides and a raised lip at the opening. The biggest difference, other than size, is that this goes straight down to the ground and doesn’t have legs. This planter box is made with 100% high-grade polyethylene resin and is also UV-resistant to fading. It has an “integrated water reservoir” so that it “self-waters” and “reduces the need for frequent watering.” Its drainage holes also allow excess water to flow out of the bottom to prevent overwatering.

Winston Porter Anastasiya Planter Box, $115.99 at Wayfair

There’s also Wayfair’s Winston Porter Anastasiya Planter Box, which is currently $115.99. This one is overall 20 inches on each side (width, height, length). But without the bottom beveled edge and the top edge, the main cavity measures 15.4 inches wide and 16.2 inches tall. It tapers down and the bottom of the cavity for your potted plant measures 11.7 inches. This one is also made with the same material as the Mayne planter from Home Depot: 100% high-grade polyethylene resin that’s UV-resistant to fading. It also has a similar design to that one, with no legs but the same molded sides as the Aldi planter box.

So if you want a new planter to display some seasonal decor for Halloween or the winter holidays (and then hold your plants once it gets warm again), or you just want to stock up on planters for the spring, Aldi’s Belavi 16 Inch Square Planter Box is worth checking out.
