If you have a green thumb and are getting your garden ready for prime planting weather, then planters are probably some of your favorite things to shop for. You might like the single planter pots or maybe even flower beds. But if you’re looking for something that can support plants that grow vines, or you want something that offers privacy, then Aldi is dropping just the thing for you this coming week: a wooden planter with a trellis. It’s affordable, large and looks a lot like other styles by Home Depot, Wayfair and Walmart that are up to seven times the price.
From April 23 to April 29, Aldi will be selling their Belavi Wooden Planter with Trellis for just $19.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores. This planter is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a rectangular wooden planter box on the bottom with a tall wooden trellis attached to the back. The box is a little elevated off the ground thanks to the four little legs, and the trellis has slats going upward like a ladder. Plus, it comes with a liner, so that you can protect the wood underneath your soil and plants.

Belavi Wooden Planter with Trellis, $19.99 at Aldi
This planter is made from a light-colored wodo that is “100% FSC certified wood,” according to Aldi’s site. The trellis offers support for “climbing plants” and, depending on what you put on the trellis, it can offer some privacy for anything behind it. If you get a few of these to cover your back porch or your AC unit outside, you can hide anything behind them and it’ll create a classy privacy fence.
The picture is hard to gauge how big it is, but Aldi’s site said it measures 53 inches tall, 17.7 wide and 11.8 inches deep. So it is pretty large and very tall, especially in comparison to others like it on the market.

Wood Decorative Fence with Planter Box, 1-Panel – BOZTIY, $137.44 at Home Depot
Speaking of, Home Depot sells an almost-identical planter with their Wood Decorative Fence with Planter Box, 1-Panel by BOZTIY. It currently costs $137.44 and has the same design and concept as Aldi’s Belavi planter. It’s a big more of a yellow or warm-colored wood and the bottom planter box has solid wood panels, so there’s less texture to it. The trellis also looks more solid and less like wooden slats that are put together.
This one also has drainage holes for proper watering. Other Aldi planters have these holes as well, so the Belavi planter with trellis should too, but it wasn’t listed in the features. This planter at Home Depot is also much bigger, measuring 73 inches tall, 41 inches wide and 26.5 inches deep.
Wood Decorative Fence with Planter Box (1-Panel) – ABORON, $139.99 at Walmart
There’s another very similar planter at Walmart by ABORON: their Wood Decorative Fence with Planter Box. One panel of this planter is $139.99 and it has the same exact look and design as the Home Depot planter with privacy fence. Down to even the same dimensions, this planter has a solid wood box and trellis behind it.
Arlmont & Co. Wooden Raised Garden Bed with Diamond Lattice Trellis, $114.99 (originally $123.99) at Wayfair
And lastly, there’s Wayfair’s Arlmont & Co. Wooden Raised Garden Bed with Diamond Lattice Trellis. It costs $114.99 (though it was originally $123.99) and is the most different than the others on this list, but the concept is still the same. It has a wooden planter box with a tall trellis on the back.
There’s even an overhang on this one so you can hang planters as well. It’s also larger than Aldi’s planter, measuring 72 inches tall, 35.4 inches wide and 17.7 inches deep.
Even though Aldi’s Belavi Wooden Planter with Trellis is smaller than others out there, for $20, you get a pretty good planter. So if you’re looking for something like it this spring, Aldi is worth checking out.
