The weather is getting warmer, which means the chances are high that you and your family are going to want to spend more time outside. This includes at night, which means that you have to have lighting. You can go with string lights or some kind of overhead chandelier. But lanterns are also a great way to light up your patio or backyard in the warmer months. And Aldi is releasing super cute solar-powered metal lanterns that will do the trick on a smaller scale. Plus, they look like Wayfair styles that cost up to almost six times the price.
From April 30 to May 6, Aldi will be selling their Belavi Solar Decorative Metal Lantern for only $7.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores. These small lanterns are exactly as they sound; they’re made of metal and have stamped designs on the sides so that the light inside can shine through. They measure about 4.75 inches in diameter and 7.75 inches tall.

Belavi Solar Decorative Metal Lantern, $7.99 at Aldi
Outdoor lighting is important for many reasons. For one, you need to keep track of your kids or your dog. But also outdoor lighting is a great way to shine (pun intended) in your design and decorating skills. So, these small lanterns are great for tables or if you buy a few you can hang them around your patio table or sitting area.
As Aldi’s site says, each lantern includes one AAA rechargeable battery. This battery is recharged by the sunlight, which is perfect for an outdoor light option. They fully charge after six hours. These lanterns provide “dusk to dawn lighting” and come in three colors—green, pink and blue—each with different stamped patterns.
There’s a green option, which is a light lime green with palm leaves stamped on the sides where light shines through. The pink version is a pale or light pink with dainty daisies on the sides. Lastly, the blue style of Aldi’s lantern is a pale cornflower blue with shell patterns on the outside.

Metal Wire Solar Powered Outdoor Hanging Lantern – Glitzhome, $23.48 (originally $26.99) at Wayfair
There are lots of other solar lanterns out there that Belavi’s looks like, including the Metal Wire Solar Powered Outdoor Hanging Lantern by Glitzhome. This lantern currently costs $23.48 (though it was originally $26.99) at Wayfair. It has a similar cylindrical shape, though it’s a little more squat; it measures 6 inches in diameter and 8.75 inches tall (11.5 inches when you include the handle). It is also made of metal and has an LED light that’s solar-powered. It comes in two colors—white and black—and they both have a flower pattern stamped on the sides.
Oron Hummingbird Solar Lantern – Arlmont & Co, $44.99 at Wayfair
Wayfair also sells the Oron Hummingbird Solar Lantern by Arlmont & Co, which costs $44.99. This one is a little more intricate and has a cylindrical shape with a bit more of a base. Made out of metal as well, this lantern measures 4.33 inches in diameter and 6.49 inches tall, making it slightly smaller than the Aldi version. It also has a light inside that is recharged by the sun and a hummingbird pattern on the sides.
So if you want some cute lanterns for your deck or patio this spring, Aldi’s Belavi Solar Decorative Metal Lanterns are worth checking out. For how small they are and the price, you can even make a string of lanterns if you want.
