There’s a really logical reason as to why Birkenstocks have reached cult status. They’re the perfect blend of comfort, function and and effortless, but in a cool way. The classic two-strap Arizona is practically a summer uniform, carrying you from beach days to farmers’ markets without issue. And then come cooler weather, the Boston clog slides in (literally) as the cozier option, especially when paired with chunky socks for a laid-back look.
But, also, those shearling-lined versions make coffee runs even more cozy. Because that’s the thing—each style has its own personality. And yet, they all share the magic of that molded cork footbed that makes your feet feel like they’ve been personally hugged. You what else they share? A really high price tag. Womp, womp.

Fortunately, Aldi has a Birkenstock dupe so good, you’ll swear it comes from the brand itself. The Serra Ladies Genuine Suede Clogs come in a beautiful burgundy, classic black and neutral khaki, so similar to colors the label carries. But Aldi’s clogs are only $12.99, which is a pretty phenomenal price for a genuine suede shoe.

The footbed of Aldi’s clogs are a “cork- rice-latex” combo, not unlike Birkenstocks which have a cork and latex footbed. These materials both help support the foot and provide shock absorption.

Do Aldi’s Clogs Really Look Like Birkenstocks?
Oh ye of little faith, you tell me. Take a look at these suede leather Birkenstock Bostons in the shade Zinfandel. Now these retail for $154.95, as opposed to Aldi’s $12.99 version, but they look like spitting images of each other in my opinion.

There it is, the same rounded toe, the quintessential buckle, the cork footbed and the black sole. And the color? It’s nearly identical.
How to Wear Suede Clogs
Suede clogs like these are casual yet polished if you style them right. Lean into their cozy vibe with straight-leg jeans and a chunky knit sweater for fall, or swap in wide-leg pants and a crisp button-down to dress them up a bit. Socks are fair game (the chunkier, the better) if you want that Scandi-inspired look. For warmer days, pair them with linen pants or a flowy midi skirt to balance the structure of the shoe. The trick is to keep the rest of your outfit relaxed but intentional so your clogs look like a style choice, not an afterthought.
