In Forza Horizon 6, completing stories is the best way to explore the various regions on the map while learning about what you see — and the cars you drive. As part of Discover Japan, the story missions aren’t mandatory, but they’re a great resource to learn more about the regions and Japanese automotive culture.

When playing them, you can expect more than just guided tours. Be ready to race to the perfect photo spot or drift your way down to the finish line if you plan to visit all story locations in Forza Horizon 6.

All story locations in Forza Horizon 6

There are nine different stories in Forza Horizon 6, and they are split into regional tours across Japan or narrative arcs focused on specific activities. Whenever you complete a story mission, you earn Discover Japan points, which you need to unlock more stamps.

Stories are not main missions you need to complete in order to progress in the Horizon Festival. Rather, they’re side activities composed of chapters in which you participate in some type of race, earning from one to three stars depending on your performance. While earning three stars guarantees the highest rewards, one is enough to progress through the storyline in case a story contains more than one chapter.

Stories fall under four categories:

  • Day trips: Join Mei and some friends on a guided tour through the regions of Japan.
  • Drift Club Japan: Drift around Tokyo City and complete drifting skill challenges.
  • Moto Auto Zine: Learn more about the history of Japanese car magazines as you photograph cars in scenic locations.
  • Yuji’s Auto: Help Yuji find cars, so that he can repair and tune them for a .
