As it does every month, Xbox has announced the first wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month — but of course, that also means some titles are leaving the subscription service, too.

So far, only three titles are being removed from the subscription service’s catalog, and one of them was already on its way out: Anthem, BioWare’s poorly received online ARPG. Anthem‘s servers are shutting down on January 12, 2026, but it’s being removed from online storefronts and subscription services (including EA Play and the Game Pass catalog) on August 15.

Also leaving Game Pass on August 15 are Farming Simulator 2022 (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Persona 3 Reload (Cloud, Console, and PC).

The good news is that these removals come with a silver lining: Game Pass subscribers who wish to keep these games in their library by purchasing them will receive a 20% discount on the price of each game.

If you’re looking for something new to sink your teeth into, be sure to check out the first wave of August 2025 Game Pass additions, which include Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Microsoft typically adds and removes content from Game Pass twice a month, so keep an eye out for the second wave of August 2025 Game Pass changes, which will likely be announced midway through the month.
