Amazon Prime members can get 11 new free PC games over the course of May. Unlike Sony’s free PlayStation Plus games, which you can only play while your subscription is active, Amazon’s free games come via redeemable codes from various PC gaming storefronts, like the Epic Games Store and GOG. You’ll still own and have access to them even if your Amazon Prime subscription ends.
May’s free games are led by Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, the 2020 remaster of the original 2010 action-adventure game. It’s a stand-alone sequel to the original Mafia and takes place 10 years later and in a different city. You play as a war veteran who gets tangled up with the Sicilian mob amid a power struggle between crime families. It has over 8,000 Mostly Positive user reviews on Steam, and the original has over 10,000 Very Positive user reviews, so players have certainly enjoyed their time as a gangster in the fictional Empire Bay, New York.
Mafia 2: Definitive Edition is available to claim now via a GOG code for Amazon Prime members. It joins some of April’s new additions that are still free for Amazon Prime members, like XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
