American Cruise Lines has officially launched its newest cruise ship, American Patriot, in Newport, Rhode Island. The ship is the first in the company’s new Patriot Class, a series of 130-passenger vessels designed for domestic cruising. The christening event coincided with the Fourth of July celebrations and marks a step towards the U.S. 250th birthday in 2026.

The American Patriot is equipped to accommodate 130 guests and features four decks, private balcony staterooms and suites, a chart room, and multiple lounges, including a top deck lounge with a walking track. Additional amenities include a main restaurant, a casual café, and a fitness center.

The Patriot Class will soon expand with the addition of sister ships, American Pioneer, American Maverick, and American Ranger, which are expected to launch later this year and in 2026. These ships are part of American Cruise Lines’ strategy to enhance its fleet and offer extended cruises in celebration of the U.S. 250th anniversary. These itineraries will explore various American rivers and waterways, from Alaska to the Florida Keys.

The christening event included participation from cruise guests, community members, and officials from Sail Newport. The ceremony featured a blessing and a ceremonial bottle smash, followed by a traditional New England lobster bake at Fort Adams State Park.

American Cruise Lines continues to expand its fleet of 25 small ships, all of which are U.S. flagged and operate exclusively within the United States.
