The Culinary Commandment challenges continued tonight on America’s Culinary Cup, hosted by Padma Lakshmi, when the 10 remaining chefs were tasked with the third Culinary Commandment challenge: Mastering the Art of the Sauce.
Their challenge in the “Let’s Get Saucy” episode was a full-scale Tournament of Sauces, which took place over three rounds.
When the scores were tallied, the bottom four chefs were pushed into a competitive cookoff, cooking one final time using ingredients suggested by their competitors.
The America’s Culinary Cup winner will be awarded the biggest cash prize in culinary history: $1 million dollars. Here’s our spoiler-filled recap of who went home tonight.

What was the first challenge on America’s Culinary Cup tonight, and who won it?
There were three rounds of cooking. After the first round, the top three chefs were safe and will get an advantage in the next commandment. After round two, three more chefs were safe, and then in round three, it was a four-way cookoff with the loser getting eliminated.
The first round was to make a dish, featuring the five mother sauces: Hollandaise, Bechamel, Velouté, Espagnole, or Tomate. The twist was the ACC board randomly assigned the sauces. The chefs didn’t get to select their favorite.
As usual, Padma, Michael Cimarusti and Wylie Dufresne awarded points based on Taste, Creativity, Presentation and Mastery of the Commandment with each quality worth 5 points, so each judge’s total would be 20 points for a cumulative possibility of a perfect 60 points.
The Top 3 were: Diana, Beverly and Matt, who were safe and didn’t need to cook again.

Malyna 39
“There are a lot of talented people in this competition, so everything has to be perfect,” Maylna said on exiting. “The small errors are what did me in. My journey ends here but I’m very grateful and made friends for life.”
