”Three years ago I tried Wegovy [another brand name for Ozempic] and I was like puking. I couldn’t handle it.” she said. Although in January, Schumer said she lost 30 pounds using a weight loss drug at the time she said was Ozempic.
“I was like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good. God bless them,” she revealed during an interview on The Howard Stern Show, adding it was a “horrible experience.”
In an attempt to find a solution to her problem, the comedian-actress consulted Midi Health, which she was promoting on Instagram. “It was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ’cause I wanted to recommend it to like my friends who are like nurses and teachers,” Schumer explained.
”They put me on estrogen and progesterone ’cause I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being in perimenopause disappeared,” she revealed. “My hair is fuller, my skin is better. I have more energy. I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex, and yeah, so that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great,” she said referring to another weight loss drug.
She went on to explain more about that drug. “It’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have,” she joked. “I’m having a really good experience with it, and I wanted to keep it real with you about that,” she added.
