Some gifts don’t come draped in ribbons and bows. Instead, they’re given to us unwrapped via a popular streaming service! If you’re among the many fans of My Life With the Walter Boys on Netflix, get ready, get set, because the Alberta-shot show has been renewed for a third season, and you won’t even have to wait that long for it to hit the small screen.

Back in action

Based on the popular Wattpad novel by Ali Novak, My Life With the Walter Boys follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl who moves from Manhattan to rural Colorado to live with her new guardian and her 10 sons.

Also starring Noah LaLonde, Ashby Gentry, Sarah Rafferty, and Marc Blucas, the first season spent eight weeks on the Netflix Global English Top 10 TV list and reached the Top 10 in 88 countries.

It was a total hit, and despite the fact that the second season has yet to premiere, the show has been given the green light to film a follow-up.

As we mentioned, this is extra exciting because the show was shot in and around the province, mainly in Calgary, Kananaskis, Crossfield, and Cochrane.

While they have yet to confirm if they will, in fact, be returning to the Prairie province, fans will soon be able to see the area play a scenic role when it picks back up later this year.

As for the third season? It’s expected to premiere in 2026.

“We’ve got a lot of things to do,” the showrunner and executive producer Melanie Halsall told Netflix’s Tedum.

“I love the teenage stories and what we do with those characters. But I think we have a lot of potential to tell stories that are intergenerational. I’d love to be able to do more of that in Season 3.”

Excited? You should be!

In the meantime, why not check out some of the many filming locations scattered throughout Alberta?

You never know what or who you might see along the way.

Happy exploring.
