The first Indian theatrical releases of 2026 made their way onto Netflix in February.
Additionally, Netflix India dropped two gripping Originals: Season 2 of the Punjabi crime thriller Kohrra and the Hindi psychological drama Accused, a rare Netflix India title that deals with LGBTQ themes.

It falls on village leader Jeevarathnam to juggle both a wedding and funeral when neither family wants to compromise on which event takes prominence. Fights ensue, someone gets possessed, and a rival politician uses the chance to score points ahead of the upcoming election. This is not Jeevarathnam’s day. Padmaavat (2018)

This lavish historical drama from Heeramandi-creator Sanjay Leela Bhansali stars Deepika Padukone as a 13th-century Indian queen so renowned for her beauty that the new Sultan of Delhi (played by Padukone’s husband Ranveer Singh) tries to claim her as his own. More than its grand scale and opulent staging, Padmaavat is unfortunately best-remembered for the false rumors about its story pre-release that led threats of violence against Bhansali and Padukone. Following his transfer to a new station in rural Punjab, Garundi and his new commanding officer Inspector Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh) find themselves entangled in the case of a murdered woman whose connections entwine with the cops’ own personal lives.
