Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has named Arash Azarbarzin as its Chief Executive Officer. The appointment marks a significant leadership change as the company plans to expand its global presence. Azarbarzin, who has extensive experience in the hospitality sector, will oversee the company’s strategic direction and growth initiatives.

Under Azarbarzin’s leadership, Viceroy Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its portfolio with new properties in various international locations. The company has announced a partnership with African Bush Camps to develop three safari lodges in Botswana and Zambia. Additionally, a new resort, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve, is scheduled to open in Portugal, aiming to enhance the brand’s presence in the European market.

In the United States, Viceroy plans to open a resort in Sun Valley, Idaho, by summer 2026. This development is part of the company’s strategy to increase its footprint in key leisure destinations. Furthermore, Viceroy is expanding into other regions, including Playa del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, New York City, and the Hudson Valley.

A strengthened executive team, including recent strategic hires, supports the company’s expansion efforts. These appointments are intended to guide Viceroy’s next phase of growth and transformation, with a focus on commercial strategy, culinary and beverage innovation, wellness, and global partnerships.
