You should be able to visit the Grid at home by the holidays
Tron: Ares brings the virtual world of the Grid back to theaters on Oct. 10, and its light-cycle races and chase scenes look great on the big screen. You’ve got plenty of time to catch the action, and the killer Nine Inch Nails soundtrack that comes with it, as the X-Men movies’ Evan Peters unleashes AI-powered destruction led by Jared Leto’s Ares. The plot and characters are pretty thin, though, so if you’d prefer to have this on in the background, here’s our best estimate on when Tron: Ares will get digitized onto your TV.
When will Tron: Ares be available to rent or purchase digitally?
Tron: Ares is made by Disney, which typically waits about two months between theatrical and digital releases. The Fantastic Four: First Steps made its VOD debut on Sept. 23 after opening on July 25, while Thunderbolts* hit theaters on May 2 and got its digital release on July 1. That means Tron: Ares will probably race onto VOD in mid-December.
When will Tron: Ares be available on Blu-ray/DVD?
Disney tends to wait three to four weeks between its digital and physical releases. Thunderbolts* got its physical release on July 29 while The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be available on 4K UHD digital, DVD, and Blu-ray on Oct. 14. That means you’ll probably see a special feature-packed Tron: Ares physical release in January.
When will Tron: Ares be available to stream on Disney Plus?
Thunderbolts* arrived on Disney Plus on Aug. 27, about three months after its May 2 theatrical release, and Captain America: Brave New World arrived on the streaming service on May 28 after its Feb. 14 debut. That means Tron: Ares will probably arrive on Disney Plus by the end of January/early February 2026.
