The Wicked star dressed up for the occasion, wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown, but some fans were a bit perplexed by her sartorial choice.

The strapless metallic gown was tight around the chest and torso, but ballooned out at the waist, with the silhouette tapering slightly at the singer’s ankles. She wore very few accessories, opting for metallic pumps and a diamond choker around her neck.
Grande wore her hair pulled back in a simple updo with shortly cropped bangs, which prompted some fans to compare her to Audrey Hepburn.

Still, others were baffled by her dress, writing on X, “That looks like a deflated football 😭.”
Several others thought of another kind of sports equipment, commenting, “My mind goes to a deflated exercise ball 😅” and asking “why she wearing a deflated yoga ball?? 😭😭 she ate tho 🩷.”
One fan said Grande’s “Dress looks like a Christmas ornament” while another said “She looks like crushed aluminium can 😭😭😭😭.” A third chimed in to say “She looks like a perfume bottle.”
At the gala, Grande accepted the award with humor, noting that she has been “performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words ‘rising star’ again, so I wanted to start by thanking my good friends Botox and Juvederm.”
The “we can’t be friends” singer continued, joking that she “thought I’d be hearing, you know, ‘slightly withering star’ or ‘drooping star’ by now so thank you.”
