Atlantic premiers call for meeting with Trudeau over new carbon tax

With about a week to go until the federal government introduces a new carbon tax, Atlantic prime ministers are calling for a meeting with them “as soon as possible” in hopes of ending the tax.

Prime Ministers say new clean fuel standards could dramatically jump pump prices in the region, disproportionately impacting Atlantic Canadians.
The Atlantic Prime Ministers’ Council said in a news release that it wanted to suspend the introduction of a carbon tax until steps were taken to reduce its impact on the region.
