Call to Audition for Edmonton Musical Theatre’s Fringe Festival BYOV Production, Melody of Memories on Sunday April 19th, from 4:30 – 9 pm at Woodcroft Community Hall – 13915 115 Avenue.

This Fringe production is a volunteer-based performance.

Melody of Memories is a heartfelt journey through a music history exhibit with a group of senior citizens. Relationships are explored while facing issues our seniors navigate, such as: dealing with dementia, grief, moving into a facility and financial abuse. This production is directed by Marie Nychka with Musical Direction by Brad Heintzman and is written by Shannon Diachinsky.

Synopsis:
Everyone has a story….
Mabel has recently moved to an assisted living home due to her husband’s passing and her progressing dementia. Mabel and her granddaughter, Molly, have always bonded over their love of music. When the assisted living home plans a trip to a music history exhibit, Molly and Mabel join a spirited small group of seniors to explore the museum with their nurse, Sean, leading the way. Mabel and the other seniors find themselves taking in the exhibits and reflecting on their past while also confronting current challenges facing seniors today.
