San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage city, recently welcomed the opening of Cleviá, a new property by Autograph Collection. The hotel marks the first Marriott Bonvoy hotel in the city and represents a significant expansion of the Autograph Collection, a brand known for its over 300 independent hotels worldwide.
Located in the city’s heart, Cleviá Hotel’s design combines modernity and tradition, integrating local materials and products to preserve the city’s essence, recognized as the “Best Small City in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler.
Brian King, President of Marriott International’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), expressed excitement about the new property. He emphasized aligning the city’s vibrant culture and warm hospitality with Autograph Collection’s brand values.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Ayolí, is anticipated to be a significant attraction, offering a culinary experience that showcases Mexico’s rich gastronomic culture. Under the guidance of renowned Chef Eduardo Osuna, the restaurant aims to deliver Mexican dishes with a unique cosmopolitan touch.
The hotel has 74 rooms and 42 residences, with a central courtyard featuring an infinity pool. The architecture celebrates contemporary Mexico, with two event halls named after renowned Mexican architects and engineers Ricardo Legorreta and Luis Barragán.
Cleviá centers its narrative on a local legend about a key that opens all doors in San Miguel de Allende, a story reflected in the hotel’s Garden of Olives. Here, guests can engrave a brass key and hang it on the garden trees, symbolizing their connection to the city.
In addition, the hotel has dedicated an art space to exhibit the works of local artists, reinforcing its commitment to the local community. The guest experience at Cleviá also encourages exploring the multicultural city of San Miguel de Allende, offering various activities and experiences.
