From the curb, 82 Hudson Dr. looks like your typical Toronto red brick home.

And for a really long time, it was just that.

In 2012, when it last sold, 82 Hudson Dr. was nothing overly special. Just a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house that was in need of some updating.

The front entrance.

And boy, did it ever get updated! The home, while it still maintains its typical red brick exterior, is a modern beauty on the inside.

82 Hudson Drive Toronto

The living room with a wood-burning fireplace with a custom metal surround.

It is so beautiful, in fact, that it has been featured in House and Home Magazine and several commercials.

The dining room.

Realtor Maggie Lind explains that the home was “stripped to its core” and then re-imaged and re-designed with the help of architect Gillian Green, who has worked on projects like Ace Bakery and the Harbourfront Centre.

The view from the living room to the family room.

Green went for a reduced material palette to create a modern space where subtle textures and colours take the spotlight.

The laundry room with custom wood drying pull-outs.

The design is also incredibly thoughtful, even down to the smallest of details.

The mudroom storage.

For example, the front hall mat is recessed into the floor, so no one ever trips on a rogue corner of the carpet.

The kitchen.

Although the attention to detail is most notable in the kitchen. It has almost exclusively drawer storage – because drawers are superior to cupboards – and the drawers have 30.5-inch depths.

No upper cabinets create a minimalist look.

There are also integrated appliances as well as two beverage fridges and a full wine fridge.

The pantry storage with a built-in beverage fridge.

The bespoke kitchen also has a wall of pantry storage with deep pull-out drawers that store ALL the snacks.

Storage and a powder room are concealed.

The main floor is an open-concept space that’s separated by built-in units that provide ample storage.

The basement.

The polished concrete floor might feel cold for some, but the warm wood tones really warm up the spaces.

The family room.

The main floor is bright and airy thanks to the 21-foot wall of glass that overlooks the backyard.

A bedroom.

The second floor of the home has the bedrooms.

One of the bedrooms with an ensuite.

The bedrooms come equipped with custom storage, and two of them have ensuite bathrooms.

The primary bedroom.

The primary bedroom is “king-sized” and comes complete with views of the garden, a walk-in closet, a walk-out rooftop deck, and a four-piece bathroom.

The recreation room.

The lower level of the house is no less stylish than the rest of the house.

The dog shower.

It has a large recreation room, as well as a guest bedroom, a three-piece bathroom and a dog shower.

Another bedroom.

Also it’s worth pointing out that this wasn’t just an aesthetic renovation, the guts of the house are all basically brand new.

The primary bedroom ensuite.

As Lind mentions in the listing, all the interior systems were replaced, including wiring, plumbing, ventilation, heating, cooling, drains, and insulation.

The backyard.

And while it’s hard to say what the outdoors offers since it’s covered in snow, it does look like there’s a substantial backyard with lots of space. The listing also mentions a built-in BBQ and concrete-surrounded gas fireplace.

The back of the house.

82 Hudson Dr. is listed for $5,995,000.
