A&W Root Beer is lending its flavor to a new type of treat.
Parade has it on good word that the beloved soft drink brand is expanding its line of sweets with a custom cotton candy flavor—just like Dr Pepper did a few years ago (and yes, that release is still out today, as is the Dr Pepper-flavored Peeps, but that’s a different story).

The A&W Root Beer-flavored cotton candy “delivers the classic taste of root beer in a light, airy, and melt-in-your-mouth cotton candy form” for an “unforgettable” dose of nostalgia, per an official description.
Images of the new offering popped up online thanks to its manufacturer, which quietly made the product available online fairly recently, and an Instagram post shared by food blogger Markie_devo.
The Jan. 16 social media upload also debuted three other sweet new arrivals expected out soon: Jolly Rancher Sour Gummies Orchard flavor (a 7-Eleven exclusive), Walmart’s Sprinkle Blast Minions Cookies and Welch’s Mango Peach Fruit Snacks. All were met with intense delight from fans of the soda flavor and fluffy confectionery, like one who wrote: “I need that cotton candy so bad.”
“I want that cotton candy 😋,” another agreed before a third added in part, “I would get that cotton candy.”
“All of them😍,” one more gushed.
No official announcement has been made regarding a potential release date, but the product has been made available for wholesale purchases through the manufacturer ($36 for a case of 12).
The unexpected new addition comes about three months after A&W Root Beer fans were teased with another all-new offering and limited-edition soda flavor: Ice Cream Sundae.
